Elim MediHeel Peel Elim is a medical grade pedicure treatment which uses state-of-the-art ingredients to remove hard skin and calluses from the feet. You maybe familiar with the traditional methods of hard skin removal such as filing, blading and harsh granular exfoliants. Although these methods offer a short term solution, they do not provide a sustainable approach to skin health . Your body responds to the unnecessary trauma (from blading and filing) by producing more callus to protect itself from said trauma. The Elim approach is focused on skin health, and uses specialised alkaline peels and AHA exfoliants to effectively remove calluses and hard skin safely.

The science of peeling The active ingredients used in chemical peels change the pH of the skin; breaking down the protein bonds that bind together the leftover skin cells of the epidermis. This foot peel pedicure replaces the harsh and potentially damaging effects of hard skin removal via rasping and filing. The action of filing, rasping or using a blade to remove hard skin from the feet, sends trauma to the brain via neural pathways. Our body’s react to repeated trauma and act to protect itself. In the case of repeated harsh removal of hard skin from the feet, this results in the overproduction of skin cells which leads to excessive skin and the formation of calluses. Therefore, never fully removing and/or resulting in continuous reformation of hard skin, cracks and/or calluses.
