Is laser safe on all skin types?

Our laser is safe on ALL skin types, meaning everyone can be treated. We use only the best medical-grade diode lasers, with advanced cooling technology, which makes treatments safe and effective for everybody.

Is laser hair removal safe in general?

Accepted Answer

Yes, laser hair removal is safe. Our machines are fully medically certified, and have full FDA approval. All of our therapists are VTCT Level 4 Advanced trained and fully insured, which means you are in safe and competent hands. Laser hair removal in general carries little risk. During your initial consultation, we do a patch-test to make sure you're safe to be treated, and also discuss any medication and suitability for treatment.

Can you have laser hair removal whilst pregnant/breastfeeding?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately, no. It is not recommended to have laser hair removal whilst pregnant, or breastfeeding. The treatment is safe, however, whilst pregnant and breastfeeding, the hormones aren't fully stable, which can significantly impact the results. You should wait at least three months post pregnancy, or three months after finishing breastfeeding your baby to commence your laser hair removal treatment.

How long does each session take?

Laser hair removal is very quick, especially with our machine! Smaller areas, such as upper lip, underarms, can be done in as little as a couple of minutes, whilst larger or multiple areas, can take around an hour. The session duration will be discussed during your consultation, so that you can effectively plan your day around your treatment. A lot of our clients actually attend their sessions during their lunch hour, due to how quick it is! We will always do our best to work around your schedule, to make sure we fit your session in at a time that suits you.

How many sessions will I need?

It is recommended that most clients will on average require 6/8 sessions, to achieve optimum results. Some people may require more sessions, in the event of any future hormonal changes, which can result in new growth. Annual top-ups are recommended, to maintain your results and to keep any stray hairs at bay. This is discussed at your consultation. With our machine's high power and our therapist's expertise, most of our clients achieve their desired results within 6/8 sessions, compared to other lasers, or less effective IPL machines that need 8-20 sessions to see results.

How often should I have a session of laser?

We recommend having a session every 6-8 weeks to begin with (every 4 weeks for facial areas), however, later on in your course, your session intervals may be extended when your growth significantly reduces. Laser sessions are done at intervals which work alongside your hair growth cycles, to make sure that we target all follicles at the right stage of growth, to inhibit future growth. This will be thoroughly explained at your consultation.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

In short, no, it does not hurt! Our lasers are very advanced, and include a patented, integrated 'crystal freeze' technology that instantly cools the skin, to keep you comfortable. Our therapists are also expertly trained, and ensure that the settings are custom to you, to make the treatment effective, but also safe and pain-free. The only sensation you may feel during your treatment is a mild, prickling sensation whilst the heat transfers to the follicle, but this is not painful. There is also no residual pain left post-treatment. If you have had laser done in the past, and found it significantly painful, this may be due to the laser used, or due to the settings of the machine being inadequate for your skin type or hair type. Does laser work on all hair types?

Laser hair removal works on all hair types, whether that is fine or course hair, or straight or curly. However, there are some exceptions in terms of hair colour. No laser currently on the market works on red, white, or grey hairs. This is because said hair does not have enough pigment within it, for the laser to heat up the follicle. Red hair also reflects the laser, rather than absorbing it. We are always completely transparent with our clients with regards to their expected results. We are aware of other clinics claiming that their lasers work on, “all hairs”, however, this is simply scientifically impossible, and something clients should be aware of.
